On Battery Day showed the enormous effort they are putting in to cut the cost of electric vehicles to be cheaper to buy than the comparable fossil fuel-powered car.
To do that the battery is the most important part and they revealed some breakthroughs in all aspects of producing a battery.
This leads to a 56 decrease in the cost of making the battery, but also increased range by 54 percent and their investment to produce one gigawatt of batteries reduced by 69 percent.
Tesla will produce an electric vehicle with extreme performance and range and sell it for $25,000 in just three years.
They didn’t specify the range, but above 300 miles in one charge is not a wild guess.
It will probably make 0-60 miles per hour in about 5 seconds.
Tesla’s goal is to speed up the transition to sustainable energy, or as Elon Musk said on Battery Day:
“Make the sustainable future come sooner.”
