πŸ‘ Born into a Facebook group?

I once listened to one of Estonia’s creators of their e-citizenship.

He said that nations are great, but it’s a bit like being born into a Facebook group – and only being allowed to belong to that group for the rest of your life.

If you are lucky, it’s a group of sensible, funny, kind people.
If you are unlucky, it is a group of crazy conspiracy theorists.

There should be greater freedom of choice, he said.

Estonia sees itself as a startup company and because citizenship is central to a nation, they have started to transform that to a digital thing.

It is inspiring and something we can learn from – and of course become e-residents there.

Anna RennΓ©us Guthrie writes about the digital nation E-stonia in this week’s Optimist’s Edge article (below)
