Tina and Tom Sjögren will be at the Warp Space Summit in Linköping on 19 September. Among others, they'll talk about the highly successful tests of the rocket engine, the schedule for getting to Mars and the rapidly growing market for rocket launches.
Tina and Tom Sjögren are adventurers with three Guinness World Records. In addition to climbing Mount Everest, they have skied back-to-back to the North and South Poles, as well as a host of other adventures. At the peak of Mount Everest, Tina looked up at the sky, out into the vastness of space – that's the destination of their next adventure.
Their goal is to get to Mars using their own rocket and their own spaceship. Therefore, they have started Pythom Space, a company that will sell satellite launches, a fast-growing market.
They're developing the rocket engine itself, two different types of rockets and two pods that will land on and take off from Mars.
The company's development efforts are currently located in California, but they've also started a Swedish branch and a possible launch site is Esrange outside Kiruna.
