After another successful SpaceX launch, the world's first crew of "amateur astronauts," Inspiration4, are now in orbit around the planet. The spacecraft they are traveling in is a SpaceX Crew Dragon.
The crew will orbit the planet at an altitude of 575 kilometers for three days before returning to Earth during the weekend.
The four civilians, who have spent the past few months on astronaut training, were launched with a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida at eight o'clock local time on Wednesday.
This is the world's first completely civilian mission where the crew goes into orbit around the earth. This is the third launch in a short time with civilians on board. In July, Sir Richard Branson became a space traveler with Virgin Galactic's SpaceShipTwo, and a few weeks later, Jeff Bezos got launched with Blue Origin's New Shepard rocket.
