🕶 Ocean Cleanup’s sunglasses fund more cleanup missions

The Ocean Cleanup, a non-profit foundation, founded in 2013, has designed a pair of high quality sunglasses that customers can purchase and thereby fund the organization's future and ongoing missions.

These sunglasses sold out very quickly and all of the earnings went directly into the organization’s ongoing project – to clean up the Great Pacific Garbage patch.

All of the material used in the glasses came from Ocean Cleanup’s first-ever plastic capture mission. According to Optimist Daily, “the organization worked with experts to develop a desirable product that also adhered to the standards set by the independent certification body DNV. This ensured that the ocean plastic used could be traced all the way back to the point it was removed from the ocean.”

Thanks to the people who bought sunglasses, the Ocean Cleanup can now clean over 500 000 football fields worth of ocean.

🌊 Huge success for Ocean Cleanup Project
The tests of the Ocean Cleanup’s newest and largest system turns out successful and hauls in a massive amount of plastic.
